Cates Nutrition
I launched this site in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to buck the trend of supplement affiliate sites being killed off by Google. It was an experiment.
I got an affiliate payment from Shopify for referring a Shopify Plus customer, in those days it was $2000. In a very Calvinistic Scottish way I felt guilty getting the payment so vowed to spend it on an affiliate site which would benefit the client.
Spend it I did. An Indian guy I knew through affiliate marketing overcharged me heavily on a dropped domain and Cates Nutrition was (re)born. I bought a load of content from my friend Mark, his muscle building website had tanked. I also merged in the content from a fat loss affiliate site I owned called Shred Bible.
At the end of the day I'd say it did pretty badly in terms of affiliate sales, but that's only because I was used to having successful sites. I also sold some guest posts and backlinks but ultimately this site was not a good bit of business. Hey, you can't win them all.

Tech Highlights :
The interesting technical bit for me was the handling of the existing backlinks and the redirects when taking on an expired domain. I've done this a few times, some have had more success in maintaining domain authority than others.
My final foray into affiliate marketing.
