Freelance Shopify Developer, Harrogate
I started in e-commerce in 2009 with Magento, e-com has been my primary focus since 2014. I have been a Shopify Partner since 2018, it is the only e-commerce platform I would work on these days.
The platform is easy to work with, and you can deliver work fast. The Shopify team provide excellent tools for devs and you can focus all your energy on the frontend to maximise conversions and returns. Gone are the bad old days, lying in bed at night worrying about Magento servers falling over. The only serious outage I can remember was *I think* about 2021 when Google Cloud went down and took half the internet with it for a few hours, Shopify included.
I've catalogued my noteworthy projects below. I'm proud of them all in one way or another. They might be there for technical reasons; because I loved the brand (or the team behind it); or because the site smashed it and made a fortune.

Hi there, thanks for visiting the site. My name is Robbie Donaldson and I've been a Shopify developer since 2018. I've been an e-commerce a long time before that though. I was originally a Magento developer for a long time, for my sins, and now I concentrate on my e-commerce entirely on Shopify.
I've put together this section of the website. The website's only just been put live so I've been building up the back catalogue.
There's three in here at the moment and what they're trying to do is give a bit of a detail or some icons around some of the tech stacks used.
These days all the work I do is Tailwind CSS and Alpine JS but it tells you a bit about it and gives you screenshots and lets you see some of the images and explains what I did and maybe give some of the insight rather than just "here's the website".
The other thing to point out about this website I have tended to put links to the wayback machine so you can see the work I did rather than where they are now. This site being a classic example of, you know, I have nothing to do the latest incarnation.
There's other sites where I have been involved with a long time. What I've done is put in the various iterations I've done over the years so you can see, you know, the versions I did and to be fair, now this is a part of a bigger team so I can't claim so responsibility for some of the latest stuff especially for the two biggest sites I work on but I do a lot of work on the back end technical integrations with other apps and a custom app that I've built for inventory management in relation to Shopify.
